MDS gathers members of the temple's Myanmar community around the study and practice of the Dhamma, the Buddha's teachings. Six classes run each weekend, taught in Burmese and focused on Abhidhamma. The temple's contact details are below.

About the group

Myanmar Dhamma Studies

A Myanmar community that gathers at Mangala Vihara, keeping company on the path and studying the Buddha's teachings.

Myanmar Dhamma Studies gathers members of the temple's Myanmar community around the study of Abhidhamma and the Visuddhimagga. The group has served as an examination centre for the Myanmar Ministry of Religious Affairs' Abhidhamma exams since 2012.

Classes are led by a team of teachers, among them Ven. Cakkapāla, Ven. Kumāra, Ven. Ňāṇavara, and Daw MarLar Aung.

What the group does

Gatherings & activities

MDS meets on Saturdays and Sundays, 2.00pm to 8.30pm, across the Chew Quee Neo Hall, the Subhadda Room, and Room 3. Lessons are also recorded, so members who cannot attend in person may follow along online.
