Mangala Vihara keeps a daily round of pūjā (pūjā, a service of devotional offering and chanting) and marks the Buddhist year with festivals, memorial services and observances. Here is the weekly schedule, and the full calendar for 2026.

Mangala Vihara offers daily pūjā, a steady rhythm of practice, open to anyone who wishes to join. The Shrine Hall is open every day, Monday to Sunday, from 7am to 9.30pm for quiet devotion, with services at the set times below.
Chanting follows The Path of Emancipation, a devotional text first published in 1938 that still serves as the guide for daily pūjā here. Pāli chanting classes run from July to December for those who would like to learn.

Alongside the weekly pūjā, Mangala Vihara marks the turning of the Buddhist year with festival days, memorial services and community observances.
The most significant day of the Buddhist year
Vesak commemorates the birth, enlightenment and final passing of the Buddha, observed on the full-moon day. At Mangala Vihara it is kept across two days in 2026.

Lunar dates Several observances, Chinese New Year, Vesak, Kathina and the Vassa (rains-retreat) days, follow the lunar calendar and shift from year to year. The dates below are confirmed for 2026.
