Sududdasaṃ sunipuṇaṃ, yatthakāmanipātinaṃ;
Cittaṃ rakkhetha medhāvī, cittaṃ guttaṃ sukhāvahaṃ.

The mind is very hard to see, extremely subtle, it lands wherever it desires. The wise one should guard the mind; a guarded mind brings happiness.

Dhammapada 36

Two meditation courses run side by side through August and September 2026, one for those beginning and one for those continuing. They start on different days: Basic Practice on Wednesday 5 August, Ongoing Practice on Thursday 6 August. Both are held in the Shrine Hall, and both end together with a one-day retreat.

Ongoing Practice, with Bhante Suneetha

Every Thursday, 6 August to 24 September 2026 · six sessions, with none on 13 and 27 August · 8.00pm to 9.30pm · Shrine Hall

The closing retreat

Both courses conclude with a combined one-day retreat on Saturday 26 September 2026, from 8.30am to 5.00pm. It is an eight-precept retreat, which means those taking part keep eight training precepts for the day, including taking no solid food after midday. If you have not done this before, ask on the evening beforehand and someone will explain what to bring.
