Abhidhamma classes
Level 1
The course covers the Compendium of Consciousness (the classification of the 89 or 121 types of citta); the Compendium of Mental Factors (the fifty-two cetasikas, in four classes, with the methods of association and inclusion); the Compendium of the Miscellaneous (consciousness classified by root, feeling, function, door, object and base); the Compendium of the Cognitive Process; the Compendium of the Process-freed, with a survey of Buddhist cosmology and the rebirth process; and the Compendium of Matter, ending with a brief description of Nibbāna.
Level 2 · online
A condensed but detailed analytical and philosophical treatment of the whole field — consciousness, mental factors, the cognitive process, the process-freed, the categories of ultimate realities, conditionality and meditation subjects — drawing on the Abhidhammatthavibhāvinī, considered the most profound and reliable commentary on the Abhidhammatthasaṅgaha.
Level 3
The Compendium of Categories (the ultimate realities arranged under defilements, mixed categories, the requisites of enlightenment, and an all-inclusive survey); the Compendium of Conditionality (the inter-relatedness of physical and mental phenomena, examined through the cause-and-result pattern that maintains bondage to saṃsāra); and the Compendium of Meditation Subjects, surveying the methods of meditation and the stages of progress in concentration and insight.
